It is with deep sadness, that the Taylor family announces the passing of Bill Taylor at St. Paul’s Hospital on Wednesday, April 22nd, at age 77. Bill was born in Regina, SK and grew up playing hockey and football as a child. He graduated from Campion College in Regina, was married in 1961, and moved to Saskatoon. He took a job at the Saskatchewan Research Council, where he worked for 25 years. In the early years, Bill was a motorsport enthusiast, writer, and active member of the Saskatoon Sports Car Club. Bill took up golf when the last of his children was born. He was an active member at the Wildwood Golf Club, Saskatoon Golf & CC, Greenbryre CC, and The Willows Golf & CC. He spent 10 years working for the Saskatchewan Golf Association, as Executive Director, where he retired in 1996. Bill remained active as Tournament Director for the PGA of Saskatchewan, and in 2010 he was elected to the Saskatchewan Golf Hall of Fame for his many contributions to the game. His accomplishments are only surpassed by his own love and respect for the game, and the many friendships he made along the way. Bill is survived by his wife of 53 years, Louise; his sister Marellan (Jim) Cory; brother Jim (Janet); his four children, Stirling, Barbara (Michael) Harris, McLaren (Rayanne), Jacquie (Christopher) Harris; and grandchildren, Cailean, Ceridwen, Cameryn, Caedmon, Coben, and Sienna. The family would like to thank the staff at St. Paul’s Hospital for the special care he received. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the St. Paul’s Hospital Foundation (1702 - 20th St West, Saskatoon, SK S7M 0Z9). The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 28th at St. Phillip Neri Parish (1902 Munroe Ave South, Saskatoon) with fellowship to follow at The Willows Golf & CC (382 Cartwright Street, Saskatoon) from 12:00-2:00 p.m. Arrangements in care of Lisa Ruf - MOURNING GLORY FUNERAL SERVICES (306-978-5200)
