It is with deep love and sadness that we announce the passing of Angelina Sarno, who passed away peacefully on Monday, December 15, 2025, in her 94th year. Angelina was a beloved Mother, Nonna and Great-Nonna, whose life was defined by hard work, faith, and her unwavering devotion to family.
Dear mother of Rosemary Fleischer (Robert), Eva Hanes (Michael) and Lina Sarno. Proud grandmother of Melanie, Carley (Ryan), Jason (Srushti), Christopher (Clara), Bradley (Carly) and Alex (Morgan). Loving Great-Nonna to Rayvn, Oaklyn, London, Willa, Elle, Carter, Isla, Lionel, Quinn, and Kaia.
Born in Italy, Angelina carried her heritage proudly throughout her life, bringing it's traditions, values, and warmth into her home every day. A tireless worker, she faced life with strength and resilience, never shying away from sacrifice to ensure her family was cared for. Her hands were rarely still – whether tending to her garden, where she found peace and joy, or caring and providing for those she loved most.
Angelina’s faith was a guiding force in her life. She lived her beliefs through kindness, humility, and unwavering love. Her faith was a source of comfort and strength for both herself and those around her.
Above all else, she was devoted to her family. Being a Mother, Nonna and Great Nonna was her greatest pride and joy. Her home was a place of comfort, laughter, and togetherness, where everyone felt welcomed, fed, and loved unconditionally. She taught by example the importance of unity, respect, and love – lessons that will live on through generations.
She is now peacefully reunited with her beloved husband, Alessandro Sarno, whom she loved deeply and missed dearly. Together again, their love continues beyond this life.
She will be forever remembered for her strength, her gentle heart, and the endless love she gave her family. Though she will be profoundly missed, her legacy lives on through the lives she touched and the family she cherished above all else.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the dedicated staff at Mapleview for their care, kindness and support. Your efforts will always be deeply appreciated.
Based on Angelina’s request, there will not be a service or reception, but just a private family gathering. In her memory, may we slow down, cherish our loved ones, and remember to stop and smell the roses. Memorial contributions to Alzheimer Society (made payable online or by cheque) would be greatly appreciated. Arrangements entrusted to Arthur Funeral Home - Barton & Kiteley Chapel (492 Wellington Street East, 705-759-2522). Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.arthurfuneralhome.com for the Sarno family.
