Bryce was a kind, generous soul who touched many lives with his compassion and warmth. He had a deep love for people from all walks of life, and his gentle nature left a lasting impression on everyone he met. Bryce had a special place in his heart for animals, especially the many dogs and cats he encountered over the years.
A dedicated and hardworking man, Bryce spent many years employed at Husky Truck Stop, the Tarp Farm, and St. Mary’s Paper. Despite the physical pain he endured, he continued to work with quiet strength and perseverance.
Bryce is predeceased by his loving parents, Alvin and Glenys Hicks, whom he missed dearly, as well as his grandparents, Claude and Marjorie Mills, and Albert and Blanche Hicks. He will be deeply missed by his brother, Eric (Debbie) Hicks, and his sister, Teri Esson (Robert), as well as his sister-in-law, Lorena Hicks. Cherished uncle to Todd Hicks (Stephanie), Tom Hicks (and great-niece Catina), Josh Hicks (Alicia), Victoria Kowan (Andrew and children Ella, Sofie, James, Amelia — all beloved great-nieces and nephew), Elisabeth Esson, and MacKenzie Esson (Kevin Martins) and his very dear friend Jana. He also leaves behind many extended family members and friends who will remember him with love.
Family and friends are invited to visit at Lifespring Church (891 Peoples Road, Sault Ste. Marie, ON) on Saturday, October 11, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m. Bryce will be laid to rest with his parents following the service.
