VOMMARO, Francesca - Peacefully, on Thursday, February 12, 2026, a few weeks before her 83rd birthday, our Mom has been reunited with her late husband Frank Vommaro who she had missed dearly since his passing.
Left to mourn her extraordinary life are her sons Vince (Tanya) and Dino (Heather), her unwavering love will be truly be missed. Treasured Nanna/Nonna of Hunter, Jagur, Jaxxon, Max and Lily, she cherished every minute that was spent with each of them. Dear sister of Angela Grandinetti (late Giuseppe), Gilda Bruni (late Domenico), as well as the late Nicolina Vozza (late Amadeo), late Carmela Greco (late Natale), Pasqualina Veltri (late Giulio), all of Italy. Sister-in-law of the late Elena Naccarato (Frank), as well as the late Theresa Vommaro (late Giuseppe), late Maria Vommaro (late Luigi) of Brazil and late Raffaele Vommaro (late Lina), late Pietro Vommaro (Lidia) of Italy. Daughter-in-law of the late Vincenzo and Carolina Vommaro. Franca will be missed and fondly remembered by her many nieces and nephews.
Born to the late Giuseppe Cino and Maria Guidocci in Lago, Calabria on March 3,1943, Franca travelled to Sault Ste. Marie from her native country arriving in 1966. It was here where she met the love of her life, married and started a family. Along with her sisters Angela and Gilda, they promoted the very importance of family by bringing the Vommaro, Bruni and Grandinetti families together to celebrate our heritage with celebrations that are talked about still to this day.
Franca was a talented cook and worked for two of the most signature restaurants in the city in Muio’s and Minelli’s during the 1970’s. She was able to pass along her love of cooking to both of her son’s who now hold all of the secrets especially her tomato sauce. Franca was a devoted Roman Catholic and an avid parishioner of St. Gregory’s Church for over 50 years. She found strength in her faith and it served her well after the loss of her husband and throughout her own health challenges.
Arrangements entrusted to Arthur Funeral Home - Barton & Kiteley Chapel (492 Wellington St. E. - 705-759-2522), where a private immediate family visitation will be held.
