

Rose, Jeanette Elizabeth passed away peacefully in her sleep at The Finnish Retirement Home on Saturday August 30th, 2025 at the age of 95.
Betty joins her husband/dance partner, Norman Rose, who she has missed for the past 7 years after 70 years of fun, family, and love. Cherished Mother of Douglas (Jean), Murray (Cheryl) and Robert (Frances). Proud Grandma of Michael (Serenity), Holly (Jeff), Graham (Amy), JoEllen (Benjamin), Charles (Alexandra), Kathryn (Tyler), Melanie (Matt), and Thomas (Whitney). Loving Great Grandma (GG) of 19.
Betty is preceded in death by her parents David and Ruby Elder. Youngest sibling to late Keith Elder (late Jean), late Eyrill Elder (late Edna), late Bill Elder (late Beth), late Jack Elder (late Jessie), late Ivan Elder (late Victoria), late Gladys (late Delbert Scutt), late Jim Elder (late Eleanor), and late Dick Elder (Mildred), brothers-in-law late John Rose (late Mary), late Bill Rose (Jenny), late Neil Rose (Aura Lee), late Howard Rose (Harriet) and sisters-in-law late Dorothy (late Bert Harrison), late June (late Clifford Gutcher), late Wanda (Walter Chikoski), Roma Barber (late George), Joan Kennis (late Bob), Margaret Rayner (Ted), Raymond Thorne (Beverly), and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Betty was a long-time member of Central United Church where she spent many happy years as a member of the Women’s Unit, contributing to the well-being of her church. She had many hobbies and especially enjoyed spending time with family and friends at her cottage at Goulais Bay.
Friends and family are invited to visit at the Arthur Funeral Home – Barton and Kiteley Chapel (492 Wellington St. E. 705-759-2522) on Friday, September 5, 2025 from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm for a visitation in Betty's honour. A service will take place the following day on Saturday, September 6, 2025 at 11:00 am at Arthur Funeral Home – Barton and Kiteley Chapel followed by burial at Greenwood Cemetery. Memorial contributions (payable by cheque or online) to ARCH or a charity of your choice will be appreciated by the family.
