She is now free from pain and reunited with her beloved husband, Mike.
Joanne wanted nothing more in life than to be a mother and she was the absolute greatest one. She poured her whole heart into her children, Dayna and Michael. She had a special bond with her son-in-law Johnnie, whom she affectionately and jokingly referred to as her “favourite child,” a title he wore with pride. Joanne was a fierce, funny, loving, and deeply giving woman whose presence filled every room.
She was an extraordinarily proud grandmother to Mackenna and Adley, the absolute lights of her life. Nothing brought her more joy than her girls, and her love for them was limitless. While she was a proud mother, she was an even prouder grandmother.
Joanne was the beloved daughter of the late Fred and Johanna Belleau and the baby of her family. She was predeceased by her brothers Dana, Arnold, Wallace (June), Butch, Blaine (Susan), Gary (Brenda), and Chris (Darlene). She is lovingly survived by her sisters Elizabeth (Dolphus), Carol (Linden), Karen (John), Roberta, and Jennifer (Ron). She will also be deeply missed by her sisters-in-law Myrna, Barbara, and Claire, as well as many nieces and nephews.
She was a very special auntie to Andrea Belleau, her first baby girl, with whom she shared a deeply cherished bond.
Joanne was an incredible baker and was especially known for her pies, which were made with the same love and care she gave so freely to her family. She loved thrift shopping and giving back, always seeing the good in people and often saying, “They could be an angel in disguise.” She was small but tough, never one to back down from an arm wrestle, and more often than not, she would win. She loved joking around, teasing, and making people blush, always bringing laughter wherever she went.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to her former PSW, Steve, and to all of the staff at Extendicare Maple View for their compassion and care. A special thank you to Nurse Linda and Dr. White for their kindness, dedication, and support during Joanne’s final days.
Joanne leaves behind a legacy of unconditional love, strength, generosity, humour, and warmth. She showed up fiercely for the people she loved and made sure they always knew they mattered. Though she will be deeply missed, her love, laughter, and spirit will live on through the family she adored so completely.
She will be forever loved and never forgotten.
I love you more, more, more.
