John Lawrence Downs

John is survived by his beloved wife Sandra of 57 years, and his sister Judith. He leaves behind his sons Glen (Michelle) and John. Proud grandfather of MacKenzie,Cameron, Bailey, Otis and Douglas. He will also be remembered by Katie (Devin), Karley (Justin) and Mitchell.

John was an avid reader and often said, "So many books, so little time." He was a lover of sports, especially baseball, and was a devoted Blue Jays fan.

After retiring, John enjoyed spending time outdoors, gardening, going for walks, and relaxing on the back deck with one of his many books.

At John's request, there will be no formal service. Those wishing to honour his memory are invited to do so in their own private way. A private family gathering to celebrate John's life will be held at a later date.

Our family would like to thank the compassionate staff at Sault Area Hospital, as well as the PSW's and nurses who cared for John over the years. A special thank you to Dr. Barbeau.
