He is leaving behind the lights of his life and entire world, his daughter Amanda Kelly (Chris) and his pride and joy, his grandson Kaleb. Special friend to Anna Currie, Peter Vezeau, Louie Gigliotti and Eddy and MaryLou Kelly. He will be greatly missed by many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends who meant a lot to him. Predeceased by his parents Edward and Shelby Yukich, his grandmother Elda Ross, his brothers Brian (late Brenda) and Mark Yukich (surv. Stephanie) and fur babies Trag and Jasmine.
Johnnie was loud and proud in everything that he did, from being a bayview boy to being the best bonus dad and grandpa Johnnie that anyone could have ever asked for. His proud loving support of Amanda will be remembered and cherished. Even though they were not blood related, Johnnie really found his home in Amanda, with their Monday to Friday phone calls (with weekends off), always taking the extra time to make sure that everything was going well in her life and letting her know how proud he was of her, Chris and Kaleb. Even though he could not always attend, he was one of Kaleb’s biggest fans when he was on the ice (Go #67!). Johnnie had an astounding green thumb and was always very proud of his “garden”.
Johnnie will be laid to rest at the same time as his 96’ GMC.

“You didn’t have to show up,
But you did.
And you didn’t just show up,
You stayed.
You’ve been a steady presence,
A quiet strength,
A safe place.
You may not have been there at the start,
But you’re one of the most important parts of my story.
I’m so grateful for you.”
