Jon was my closest friend from university, and to hear of his passing is truly a blow. I am so so sorry for your loss Melissa, Barry, Kathy, family and friends. 
Jon knocked on my residence door at McMaster during our first week. He was just making the rounds, introducing himself. I'll never forget that. Just a testament to who he is. Brave, thoughtful, curious and caring. Jon and I were only able to see each other very infrequently since university, but he was and will remain one of my closest friends.  

Jonathan was relentless at schooling me at chess. Everytime we played i learned a new trick.  I will miss him

 I had the pleasure of meeting Jonathan while he was visiting Port Hope. He would light up any room with his sense of humor and smile. I'm very saddened to hear of his passing. 



I am so sorry to hear of Jonathan's passing. I am a professor at the University of Saskatchewan, College of Law and I knew Jon from when he was a student here. Jon and I stayed in touch over the years. He was a very kind man with a fierce drive to do well in his practice. He would call me for advice once every few months. I had hoped he would be well and I am so sorry to hear of this event. Do know that all of us the College of Law wish to send our condolences to the family. We will remember him well.

Jonathan was as close as a brother to me. We met this last October in elliot lake, he touched my life as im sure hes touched so many others. Im writing this with such heavy eyes - and ill forever miss his amazing smile and laugh. He spoke so highly of his boys. He will be missed so much. Im so sorry for your loss everyone.

It is with a heavy heart, that I hear of Jonathan's passing today! 
I am so saddened by this; as I feel we lost Jonathan to soon. As;
This Man had so much potential; theres not question to what he was capable of!
I had the pleasure of having many Crib battles with Jonathan; and also being there for Jonathan a few times when he needed me to be! I am very grateful for all the time I got to spend with him.
I will carry with me, his warm smile, and knowledge he instilled within me in the short time I got to know him.

Jonathan was one of the most dynamic people I have ever met. His smile would light up the room. He had a remarkable presence and was such a joy to be around. I’m so glad I got to call him my friend and so sad to hear of his passing. The world will never be the same for those he touched. He will be forever loved and missed. My deepest condolences to his family and friends. 

I had the pleasure and great opportunity to meet Jonathan in October of this year at Elliot Lake.  He was an amazing man who provided me with great strength and support.  I am a lot older than he and despite that we became quite good friends in a very short period of time.  To learn of his passing is a great loss to everyone and especially his immediate family.  I will remember his tenderness, his strength, his voracity for life and his determination to move forward in a new direction.  My sincere condolences to all of you.  May you find comfort in all of the good memories Jonathan left for you.
