Joe is now reunited with the love of his life, Joan. He leaves behind his loving children JoAnne Hosack (Sam) and Joe. Proud Nonno of Nate and Maya. Cherished brother of Frank (Rosina) and Lucy Paliani (late Tony). Brother-in-law of Andy Poeta (Janet), late Tony (Margaret) and the late Peter. Loving uncle of many nieces and nephews.
At a young age, Joe and his family made the move from Carpino, Italy to Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario where he settled and spent the rest of his days.
Joe was a devoted and very well respected elementary school teacher for over 30 years with the Huron Superior Catholic District School Board.
The family would like to send their gratitude to Dr. Shoesmith, the ALS team at London Health Science Centre, Dr. Nicki Apostle, the Ontario Health at Home team, Care Partners, CBI and the ParaMed Home Healthcare team.
Friends and family are invited to gather at St. Gerard Majella (211 Pentagon Blvd.) for mass on Saturday, September 6, 2025 at 12:00 pm with Father Charles Abiamiri officiating. Reception will follow at the Marconi Hall (450 Albert Street). As per Joe’s wishes, cremation will take place and he will be laid to rest at Holy Sepulchre Columbarium. Memorial donations (payable by cheque or online) to A.R.C.H., ALS Society of Canada or St. Gerard Majella Parish would be greatly appreciated.
