

BARNETT, Lawrence Fred “Barney” April 13, 1928 – February 14, 2010 – It is with much sadness and quiet peace, that we announce the passing of Lawrence F. “Barney” Barnett at the Sault Area Hospital on Sunday, February 14, 2010 in his 82nd year. He will be sadly missed by his loving wife and lifelong best friend (Margie) Margaret Anne (Campbell). He will always be remembered and forever loved by his son Bob and daughters Cathy Lemieux (Terry) and Jeanne (Cindy). Admired and much loved Papa of his grandchildren Corry and Andrew, Hali and David, Calla and Salif, Chandra, Rob and Kyla, Andy and Cherie, Matt and Amber. Great Grandfather of Magpie and Hawk, Lucy and Sally, Evelyn, Jane and Liam, Shawn and Carleigh who loved and will dearly miss their Papa. Beloved brother of Elaine Robertson (late Faucet) and Leonard. He is also lovingly remembered by nieces and nephews and their families as Good Ole Uncle Barn. He will be sadly missed by Spencer Whenham. Barney was always there to lend a hand, whether at Algoma Steel, Goulais River, Turkey Lake or the many cottagers along the lake at Batchawana. Friends may call at the Arthur Funeral Home & Cremation Centre on Thursday, February 18, 2010 from 6:00 - 9:00 pm. Funeral service will be held in the chapel on Friday, February 19, 2010 at 9:30 am. Pastor Phil Sabine officiating. The family wishes to gratefully acknowledge the tender, loving care given by doctors and nurses at the Sault Area Hospital. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or the Sault Area Hospital Foundation would be appreciated. “Papa, we love you and will do our best to follow your example.”
