

Lynn was born on April 15, 1940 at General Hospital, in Sault Ste. Marie, ON. His parents were Joseph and Velma Mullins. Lynn was raised in Sault Ste. Marie, ON Canada. He was a compassionate person, a quality that he would carry with him throughout his life. Even at a young age, Lynn was sensitive to his parents’ moods.
Lynn was raised with two siblings. He had one younger brother Kenneth and a younger sister Dorothy. .
Lynn attended Tech High school for approximately two years. He didn't like High School and therefore didn't finish.
While those who did not know him well found Lynn to be somewhat reserved until they got to know him, he was an authentic and devoted friend. Lynn was a tranquil person, with an easygoing and open-minded attitude towards life. He presented a pleasant face to the outside world. Lynn sought to achieve harmony with everyone. While growing up, some of his best friends were Jimmy Armstrong and Garry Willis. Later in life, he became friends with Ken Findlay, Wayne Clark, Don Coulter, Jim Mick and Dick Denes.
The desire for romance was always present in Lynn's life. He succeeded in finding it on October 18, 1965, when Lynn exchanged wedding vows with Shelba Jean Stevens at Central United Church of Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario.
Lynn was a gentle person who held deep feelings for his children. He enjoyed having fun with his kids and was at times fiercely protective of them. He was blessed with two children, two sons, Steven Arthur and Joseph Edward. They were also blessed with five grandchildren, Nicholas, Julie, Caleb, Keira and Anna.
Blessed with a strong sense of integrity, Lynn was as loyal and committed in his work as he was in the rest of his life. Lynn worked well with fellow employees and showed great cooperation in reaching common goals. Lynn always seemed to be able to get the job done. He was most comfortable working on the projects and jobs that he strongly supported. His primary occupation was a pressman, journeyman. He was employed for 40 years at the Sault Star. Lynn always tried to be a team player, doing what was necessary in order to get the job done.
Lynn was in the Army reserve, Sault Ste. Marie. Lynn was extremely loyal, and that was a quality that others noticed and appreciated.
Lynn enjoyed his leisure time by taking part in various hobbies. His favorite pursuits were snow mobiling. Lynn was content to enjoy his hobbies alone but he was also willing to share his interests with others. Lynn loved his time at their camp at Devils Lake.
Lynn's tremendous enthusiasm for the activities he enjoyed also influenced the pleasure he drew from sports. Recreational sports included baseball, broomball and bowling. Lynn also enjoyed watching sports and liked following his favorite teams whenever he got the chance to do so. Tops on his list was curling (mainly because Shelba liked it).
Throughout his early years, Lynn was an active member of the snowmobile club in the Sault for many years and in later years he was a member of the 432 Wing Algoma R. C. A. F. A.
Lynn enjoyed traveling and going away on vacations. Taking trips provided the chance for him to kick back and relax, to visit new places and see new things. Favorite vacations included a trip to Venezuela which included a wilderness tour and also a trip to Las Vegas, the East Coast which included New Brunswick, P. E. I and Nova Scotia. Other trips included Colorado Springs, Colorado and Cold Lake, Alberta both places where Joe was stationed. The Montreal Expo was also a highlight with the exception of all of the walking because of the transit strike.
Though Lynn always appeared to be dreaming of greener pastures, he was accepting of retirement when it finally came in 1995. In retirement, he found new pleasure in being a couch potatoe! Even in retirement, Lynn continued to stay in touch with his old friends.
Lynn passed away on December 20, 2012 at ARCH, Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario. Lynn had a brief two week battle with Lung Cancer. Lynn was laid to rest in the summer of 2013 in Richards Landing Cemetery in the Stevens family plot.
Lynn was a person who tended to see the world in terms of black and white, Lynn tried to focus on the good he saw, knowing that there were times he would have to compromise. He held onto his dreams. It was this quiet reserve that that became Lynn's trademark qualities for all who knew him, and it was one of the many reasons why all who knew him loved Lynn Mullins.
Lynn was a very quiet and private man who was extremely proud of his sons and their accomplishments. He also dearly loved his five grandchildren and was looking forward to watching them grow up and become individuals.
