Rita Capy

Rita lived a life defined by kindness and strength. She was one of 11 children born to Jeanne and Abraham Gignac of Spanish, Ontario. Rita and Frank owned and operated Capy's Restaurant on Queen St. for many decades. She was the cherished wife of the late Frank Capy (1998). She was the proud and loving mother of 5 children, Frank, Janet (Donnie), Joyce, Jennifer (Scott) and the late Stephen (Susan).

Her family was the center of her world and her warmth extended deeply for her 6 grandchildren. Andrea (Kevin) of Fort McMurray, Alberta, Jasmine (Damon) of London, Ontario, Aimee (Jeff) of Terrace Bay, Ontario, Marc (Rosan) of Thunder Bay, Ontario, Britny (Paul) of Dubai, UAE and Jessa (Tyler) of Bedford Nova Scotia. As well as her many great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild, and many nieces and nephews.

Thank-you to Dr. Yee, and the wonderful Doctors and Nurses at the Sault Area Hospital for the exceptional care and compassion shown during her final days. Her family and friends will cherish her memories and celebrate her beautiful life.

As per her wishes cremation has taken place. Family and Friends are welcome to visit Arthur Funeral Home - Barton & Kiteley Chapel (492 Wellington St. E, 705-759-2522) on Saturday, October 25, 2025 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am for a time of visitation. Service to take place at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers, a memorial donation can be made to a charity of your choice in her honour.
