Robert Bruce Eddy

EDDY, Robert Bruce – Peacefully at the Extendicare Mapleview with his family by his side on Saturday, October 12, 2013 at the age of 89. Beloved husband of over 44 years to Virene Eddy. Father of Shirley Swire (Bill) and Viella Eddy-Maenpaa (Tim). Proud grandpa of Patricia Smith (Luke), B.J. Swire (Justine Chalykoff), Amanda Maenpaa and Tomas Maenpaa. Dear brother of Betty Kennedy (Martin) and predeceased by Grace McCallum (late Robert). Brother-in-law of June Terman (Donald), Vivian Hyndman (Allan), Allen Card (Naomi) and the late Merlin Card (Evelyn). Robert will also be sadly missed by his nieces and nephews. Robert served in the Second World War in the Princess Pats Canadian Light Infantry where he was wounded in September 1944 in Italy. His injuries included the amputation of his left leg. However, he was able to overcome his injuries and worked nearly 31 years in the Sault Ste. Marie Post Office as Directory Clerk. Friends may call at the Arthur Funeral Home & Cremation Centre on Wednesday, October 16, 2013 from 6 to 9 pm. Funeral service in the chapel on Thursday, October 17, 2013 at 11 am. Rev.
