Ruthann Isabell O'Toole

O’TOOLE, Ruthann Isabell – After a lengthy illness and a courageous battle, Ruthann O’Toole passed away at the Algoma Residential Community Hospice on Wednesday, February 18, 2026, at the age of 69 with her family by her side.

Beloved wife of Richard O’Toole. Mother of Michael O’Toole (Melissa), Jonathan O’Toole (Shawna), Erin Lappalainen (Joey). Special Nana to Elizabeth, Catherine, Liam, Grace, Connor, Owen, Aidan, Olivia and Jack. Loving daughter of Isabell and the late Walter Olar. Daughter-in-law of late Anna and late John O’Toole. Dear sister of Randy Olar (Donna), Rosemary Borton (late Pat), late Rick Olar (Donna), Rusty Olar (Sylvia), late Roberta Tatasciore (late Pat) and Ronnie Olar (Bonnie). Cherished sister-in-law of Anna Laureen Morettin (Alessio), Dennis O’Toole (Norma), Roseleen Lavergne (Ronald) and late Robert O’Toole. Ruthann will be missed by many nieces, nephews and family members.

It is greatly appreciated for all the family who came to A.R.C.H. to support her and her family. She will be fondly remembered for spending time with and talking about her grandchildren and tending to her flowers.

A special thank you to all the care staff at the Sault Area Hospital Cancer Clinic and the wonderful support received from all the staff at A.R.C.H.

A celebration of Ruthann’s life will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations (payable by cheque or online) to A.R.C.H. would be greatly appreciated.
