Thomas Wayne Barill

Loving father of Lori Antpoehler, Shane Barill (Connie) and the late Rick Samson (Annette). Grandfather of Kevin Jr. and Ava Antpoehler, Matthew Syrette, Kaleb and Kira Samson. Great-Grandfather of Quinn, Jax and Emmie Syrette. Youngest son of the late Merle and Fred Barill and predeceased by twelve siblings.

Tom is survived by his sister Jackie Fry (Bud Forsey), sisters-in-law Sharon and Murielle Barill, brother-in-law Art Thompson, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Tom, affectionately known as “Tuba Tom”, was an Associate Legion Member and played tuba in the Royal Canadian Legion Band for more than two decades. He enjoyed marching in many parades within Ontario and Michigan, and the band was always popular wherever they performed. The memories Tom shared with all of us will live on.

In accordance with Tom’s wishes, he has been cremated and will be interred in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery alongside his brother Gary and sister Marlene Thompson. A celebration of his life will be held on Sunday, September 21, 2025 from 2:00 pm until 5:00 pm in the Royal Canadian Legion Lounge (96 Great Northern Road). Entrance off the back parking lot. Memorial donation (payable by cheque or online) to Royal Canadian Legion Branch 25 would be appreciated.
