Bobbie was born on May 19, 1941 in Mt. Vernon, Georgia, the only daughter of the late Harvey Lee Geiger and the late Evelyn Duncan Geiger. At the young age of 16, her mother passed away. In spite of her grief, she had to grow up quickly to help her father raise her four younger brothers.
A life-long Baptist, Barbara was a faithful member of Bible Baptist Church. She spoke very highly of her church family and loved them deeply. She enjoyed playing cards with her church ladies each Thursday.
Barbara worked her whole life in the accounting field.
She is preceded in death by brothers Travis, Wayne, and Weylan “Skip” Geiger, as well as her “other daughter” Princess, her much loved Maltese.
Barbara is survived by her daughter, Traci Sikes of Savannah, her brother Aaron Geiger of Midway, and her two cats that she adored, Chase and Sassy. She is also survived by many nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.
Bobbie did not like drab dark colors, so in her honor please wear something bright and cheery to celebrate her life. She was an amazing woman and a good friend to those she loved.
Remembrances: In lieu of flowers, Barbara would prefer a donation to the church or temple of your choice in her memory.
Visitation will be held Thursday, June 11 from 5 until 7 pm at Fairhaven Funeral Home – Hubert C. Baker Chapel. The funeral will be held on Friday, June 12 at 11 am at Bible Baptist Church, conducted by the Reverend Dr. John Rainwater and the Reverend Dr. Herbert Hubbard. Interment will be private.
