
Ben “Hill” Ivey, Jr., 55, of Pt. Wentworth, GA., passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 13, 2015 at Hospice Savannah, with his loving family at his bedside. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ben Hill Ivey, Sr. and Willie Mae Bunch Ivey.
Hill was born in Savannah and raised in Statesboro where he attended Statesboro High School. He was a self-employed Master Carpenter throughout the Savannah area and was of the Christian Faith. Hill enjoyed a lifelong love of nature and possessed a green thumb, which he shared with those he loved throughout his lifetime. He was all about family and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his Fiancée, Yvonne Thomas of Pt. Wentworth; a son, Brandon Trey Ivey of Warner Robins, GA; two sisters, Saundra I. Riccardelli (Peter) of Naples, FL, and Debra I. Ellgass (Larry) of Statesboro, GA; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews.
Graveside Service: 1:00PM Friday, May 15, 2015 in the Greenwich Section of Bonaventure Cemetery, with Rev. Rachel B. Greine officiating. The family will receive friends before and after the Graveside ceremony.
Memorial Contributions may be made in Hills name to the MSI Unit at Memorial Health University Medical Center.
