Donald Rayford Stokes Sr.

He was born in Savannah, Ga., and was preceded in death by his father, Linwood Stokes.

He had formerly worked for Saia Motor Freight Company, and was a former member of the Southside Church of God.

He is survived by his wife, Cathy Gordon Stokes, Bloomingdale, Ga; daughter, Melissa Stokes “Missy” Filler (Ricky) of Pembroke, Ga; son, Donald R. “D.J.” Stokes (Marie) of Bloomingdale, Ga; mother, Mrs. Dorothy Hiers Stokes, of Savannah, Ga; sister, Miss Gail Stokes, of Savannah, Ga; 2 brothers, Irvin L. Stokes, Sr., of Bloomingdale, Ga; and James A. “Jimmy” Stokes of Savannah, Ga; 3 grandchildren, Cheyenne, Trey and Nathan, and a number of nieces and nephews.

Visitation: 2 – 5 p.m. Sunday at the Fairhaven Funeral Home – Hubert C. Baker Chapel.

Funeral Services: 11 a.m. Monday in the Hubert C. Baker Chapel, with Rev. Walt Sparks, and Dr. Charles G. Cooper, Sr., officiating.

Interment: Bonaventure Cemetery.
