

Emily "Chickie" Timmons Butterworth, 70, went to be with her Lord on December 31, 2011. She was preceded in death by her husband Paul, mother, Dorothy Engle granddaughter Bonnie Joe, sister Betty, brother Raymond. Chickie was born in Baltimore, Maryland where she was a homemaker and loving mother of four. Chickie, with her husband Paul moved to Savannah, Ga. in 1981, where they spent the next 30 years. She loved taking care of Paul and spending summers with their granddaughter Nicola Wasiurko. Chickie's young at heart attitude and caring ways, brought a smile to all, including patients and their families at St. Joseph's Hospital in Savannah, where she was a volunteer. She was a member of the ladies auxiliary of the VFW and the American Legion and a member of the Quacco Baptist Church. She is survived by her five children, sons George and Joseph Dowell; daughters, Grace Wise, Virginia Wasiurko and Elizabeth Tuck; sisters, Virginia and Patricia; brother, William; eight grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, numerous other relatives and close friends.
