

Sam was born and raised in Savannah and was a graduate of Johnson High School.
He was Battalion Chief with the Southside Fire Department.
He was a member of the Georgia State Fire Fighters Association, Georgia Association of Fire Chiefs, the Smoke Divers #88 Club, a member of the Forest City Gun Club, where he was an Expert Marksman.
He was a member of the Christian Church.
He is survived by his wife of 21 years, Kim Boyd Galletta, Register, Ga; son, Thomas Samuel Galletta, Register, Daughter, Ashley Elizabeth Galletta, Register, brother, Leo Thomas Galletta, Jr., New York; 2 sisters, Lucy G. May of Savannah, Ga; and Louise Galletta, Lilburn, Ga.
Visitation: 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Mar 7, 2013, at Fairhaven Funeral Home – Hubert C. Baker Chapel.
Funeral Services: 2 p.m. Friday, in the Hubert C. Baker Chapel, with Rev. Bill Ellar, Chaplain at Ogeechee Hospital, officiating.
Interment: Greenwich Section of Bonaventure Cemetery.
