

Florence Caroline Tucker Kessler, 86 died peacefully on March 5, 2015. She was raised in the Bingville community in Savannah, Georgia. During her high school years, she worked on weekends as a nurse's aide at Telfair Hospital on Park Eve. She graduated from Commercial High School as one of three honor graduates. Her career consisted of that secretary and bookkeeper for Empire Millinery Company, after which she was employed by the Corps of Engineers. A portion of her time was at Hunter Airfield during the time the runway and hospital were constructed. Upon returning to work after a leave of absence she became secretary to then city manager, John Hall, who presented to her a commendation and a key to the city. After a short period with the CDC on Oatland Island she became secretary to Clyde W. Blank with the Internal Revenue Service during which time she qualified through accounting courses as a auditor and retired with over 30 years active service. She excelled in developing fraud cases, one of which resulted in prosecution for which she was recognized with honors including the Albert Gallatin award upon retirement. She was a member of NARFE and served as secretary thereof for several years. She was also a member of the Easter Star, Chapter 52. She was preceded in death by her husband, Morris R. Kessler; her father, Lonnie A. Tucker; mother, Frederica Tucker Morris; sister, Frederica (Freddie) Gorman; and brothers William Tucker (Willie); Carston H. Tucker (Buster), his wife, Dora; Lonnie A. Tucker,Jr and wife Emeria (Lupe). Survivors are daughter Cynthia (Cyndy) Ball, husband Lance; son, Andrew G. (Andy) Kessler, wife, Audrey and two granddaughters, Erica Lynn and Haley Caroline Kessler; and long time close and caring friend, Frank Riggs as well as many nieces and nephews. She was a member of Jerusalem Lutheran Church in Rincon, Georgia and associate member of Wesley Oak United Methodist Church in Thunderbolt. She believed in fairness and would not tolerate otherwise. She was smart and had a great sense of humor. She was not shy and made everyone she met feel comfortable in her presence. She was a warm and loving person and an inspiration to all who knew her. Visitation will be held an hour prior to the service on Saturday, March 7 2015. Services will be held at Saturday March 7 2015 at 11:00 AM at the chapel of Fairhaven Funeral Home in Garden City, Georgia. Burial will be at Jerusalem Lutheran Cemetery. Pastor Lynne Drake and Rev.
