

Francis Joseph Bootsie Fischer, 78, of Savannah, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 27, 2011 at Memorial Health University Medical Center. Bootsie was born and raised in Savannah and attended Benedictine Military School. He was a veteran of the US Navy having served during the Korean Conflict on board the USS Vulcan, (a repair ship). He was a member of the NRA, American Legion Post 154, VFW, Patrick Russell Post. Bootsie was of the Catholic Faith. He is survived by three sons, Ignatius A. Nash, (Tammy), Francis Joseph, Jr. (Charlotte), James Anthony Fischer; one brother, Charles Edward Fischer all of Savannah; four grandchildren, Joseph, Lacey, Erin, Cameron Fischer, several nieces and nephews. Visitation: 6-8 p.m. Sunday, October 30, 2011 at Fairhaven Funeral Home, Hubert C. Baker Chapel. Funeral Service: 11 a.m. Monday, Oct. 31, 2011 in the Chapel of Fairhaven Funeral Home, with Fr.
