Jake Phillips

Edwin Jay "Jake" Phillips - SAVANNAH - Edwin Jay "Jake" Phillips, 47, of Savannah passed away Saturday, Jan 7, 2012 at Memorial Health, after a short illness. He was preceded in death by his father Walter C. Phillips and a brother, Walter Glenn Phillips. Jake was born and raised in Savannah, and was a graduate of Johnson High School, and also attended Georgia Southern University. He was president of the Golden Isles Investment Group. Jake was a avid Fisherman and Gardener, he also loved performing stand- up comedy at various comedy clubs in Atlanta. Jake was of the Christian Faith. He is survived by his mother, Ruth Phillips McIntosh of Savannah; a brother, J. Harold Phillips (Janet) of Atlanta; a sister, Janice K. Phillips of Atlanta; his loving and faithful companion, Kathy Stutz and her daughter Christina of Savannah; one niece, Jennifer Hudson; two nephews, Chris Phillips (Brandy) and Davis Phillips, several great nieces and nephews. Visitation: 5-7p.m., Monday at Fairhaven Funeral Home, Hubert C. Baker Chapel. Funeral Service: 11 a.m., Tuesday in the Chapel of Fairhaven Funeral Home, with Dr. Herbert Hubbard and Dr. John Rainwater officiating. Burial to follow the service at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
