

Ola J. “Nita” Hatmaker Workman, 70, passed away at home after a short illness on November 27th, 2013. Nita was born on July 16th, 1943, in Lake City, Tennessee to the late Elvin and Lucy Hatmaker. Nita had been a resident in Savannah since 1974. She was a member of Woman Helping Others, a former member of Zonta Club of Savannah, as well as a faithful long time member of Bible Baptist Church. For years she worked at Lucy Chang’s Florist as a floral designer and most recently worked at the Nursery in the Bible Baptist Daycare Center. Nita is survived by her husband Teddy M. Workman, retired Lt. Chatham County Police Dept./Savannah Chatham Metro Police Dept.; Daughter Julie (Glenn) Evans of Savannah; Son Bobby (Tammy) Oostlander of Ellabell; Grandchildren Jeremy (Karen), Brandon, Amber, Shawn and the late Christopher; Great Grandchildren Connor, Chloe and Dale; along with several Sisters, Brothers, Nieces and Nephews. Visitation will be held for 5-9pm on Thursday, December 5th at Fairhaven Funeral Home, Hubert C. Baker Chapel. Memorial Services will be held at 11am on Friday, December 6th at Bible Baptist Church Auditorium. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Abbey West Cemetery.
