Patricia Neidlinger (“Tricia”) Lanier, 66, succumbed to her 17 month battle with pancreatic cancer on September 28, 2013 at home in Savannah surrounded by her family and now rests in her Lord Jesus Christ.
A native of Savannah and born on March 20, 1947, she was the daughter of Carson and Mary Neidlinger. She graduated from Savannah High School in 1965 and was married that same year to Savannah native Marion T. (“Bucky”) Lanier Jr, her loving husband for 48 years. They raised two children, Marion T. (“Jody”) Lanier III (46) and Lisa Lanier Rowe (44), who continue to reside in Savannah.
With her devoted efforts, office management and bookkeeping, she and Bucky founded in 1976 and grew Lanier Properties, which has now become Lanier Realty of Savannah. When she retired in 1999, she devoted the majority of her time and energies to her 7 young grandchildren, whom she cherished as some of her greatest blessings.
She was a 35 year, Charter member of Ferguson Avenue Baptist Church in Savannah. She regularly taught Sunday School and various women bible studies. She was instrumental in establishing Precept Ministries in Savannah and taught this bible study for over 22 years. Her Christian faith was paramount to her being, and she was a light to all who knew her.
As a great listener and solid example, she was beloved by her greater families. In 1978, she and Bucky founded and hosted at their home annual family reunions for both her and her husband’s side of the family. These gatherings over 35 continuous years can be credited for keeping both sides of these large families close.
She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Marion T. (“Bucky”) Lanier, Jr of Savannah; her son Marion T. (“Jody”) Lanier III and daughter-in-law Kim Kimball Lanier, both of Savannah; her daughter Lisa Lanier Rowe and son-in-law Jay E. Rowe, Jr, both of Savannah; her 7 grandchildren Kaitlyn Rowe, Ashley Lanier, Lauren Rowe, Hunter Lanier, Addisyn Rowe, Tanner Lanier and Emily Lanier; her only sister LouEllen Neidlinger Brinson of Hollywood, SC near Charleston; many cousins whom she cared for as sisters and brothers; and 12 nieces and nephews.
