Thomas Merritt

December 27, 1949 to August 3, 2012. Beloved son, father and grandfather. Missed by his family, friends and two yorkies Lallie and Bentley. He was preceded in death by his father Thomas Alvi Merritt. Survived by his mother Katina Merritt, the mother of his three children Dianne, son George Anthony Merritt, daughter Catherine Merritt, daughter and son in law, Juliet and Phillip Story and three grandsons, Trey Story, Kadin Story and Harrison Story. He was a member of the United States Air Force Reserves. He was a Savannah native and active member of St. Paul's Greek Orthodox Church serving as an altar boy in his youth and assisting in fundraising at the church festival each year. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. on Saturday August 11, 2012 at St. Paul's Greek Orthodox Church with funeral services at 10:00 a.m. Internment shall follow at Bonaventure Cemetery. Paulbearers will be his family and friends. In lieu of flowers, rememberances may be sent to St. Paul's Greek Orthodox Church, 14 West Anderson Street Savannah, GA 31401.
