Br. George Joseph Edwards

Passed away peacefully at Presentation Manor on Tuesday, May 6, 2025.

George was born in Montreal, Quebec, the son of the late Joseph C. Edwards and Blanche Imbleau. He was predeceased by his nine siblings, seven sisters and two brothers. He is survived by his nieces and nephews.

He was a member of the Brothers of the Christian Schools for 77 years. (1948-2025) He spent most of his teaching years at De La Salle College, “Oaklands” in Toronto and also taught at the Brothers’ Junior Novitiate in Brome Lake, Quebec, He was Principal of Senator O’Connor College School in Don Mills from 1966-73 and Business Administrator at De La Salle College “Oaklands” from 1973-78. His retirement years were spent at the Brothers’ Communities of “Oaklands”, La Salle Manor, Loretto Abbey, and Presentation Manor.

Visitation will take place before the Mass of Christian Burial that will be celebrated on Friday, May 16, 2025 from 10 AM until the time of the Funeral Mass at 10:30 AM in the chapel of Presentation Manor, 61 Fairfax Cres. Scarborough. Internment will take place in Holy Cross Cemetery, Thornhill, (8361 Yonge St,) in the lot of the Brothers of the Christian Schools Ontario.
