Christina Susan Boylan (née Russell), 63, of Scarborough, Ontario, died peacefully at home on October 31, 2024.
She was born in Montréal, Québec on February 18, 1961 where she attended Pierrefonds Comprehensive High School and Vanier CÉGEP before going on to study history at York University in Toronto. She was employed by Novopharm (now Teva) for 34 years and worked there until her MS prevented her from continuing to work.
Christina was preceded in death by her father, James (2017), and her mother, Mildred (2018) (née Westerholm). She is survived by her husband of 38 years, James, daughters Alicia, Emily, and Serena, sisters Trish and Janet, and brother Peter.
Chris had a quick wit and a good sense of humour. She was a voracious reader and was often found with her nose in a book. When a book was not handy Chris would read whatever was available - like the back of the cereal box as she ate her breakfast. She also had a great memory, memorizing all sorts of things, such as the subway stations and their respective wall tile colours on her trips to and from work in downtown Toronto.
Chris enjoyed traveling to the family’s trailer in Haliburton then Peterborough. She enjoyed many road trips to Texas. She also travelled to Florida and Boston- Chris wanted to see Fenway Park! Chris and family drove to Nova Scotia a few times to visit with James’ extended family.
Chris and James celebrated their 25th Wedding Anniversary by going on a cruise. They also flew to Calgary and Vancouver to visit family at different times. Unforgettable memories!
Chris loved her family and was very proud of her three daughters, bragging about them to anyone who would listen. She had a strong faith which helped her to deal with the challenges presented to her as her MS progressed. Chris always was very appreciative whenever someone helped her whether it was feeding her, giving her a drink of water or helping her change position. She would say thank you! Her family always told each other “I love you”! Her smile lit up a room!
The Boylan family would like to thank all the ICU staff at Scarborough General Hospital for their care of Chris in August and September.
