Jean Ruby Pilkey

Jean was born on March 27, 1929 and was the youngest of 10 children. She taught elementary school for 5 years. She married Glenn in 1957 and retired from teaching to stay home to raise her 2 sons, who she took great pride in. She enjoyed the simple things in life and always had a quiet, patient and loving demeanour.

Jean passed away peacefully in her sleep at her home in Scarborough at the age of 94.

She is survived by her husband Glenn of 66 years, her children Alan (Leslie) and Donald (JoAnn), her grandchildren Chad, Megan, Ben (Jordan) and Sam (Dan) and her great grandchildren Brooke, Avery and Charlie.

She is predeceased by her 9 older siblings. Jean loved family gatherings, watching birds at the feeder, taking care of their beautiful flower and vegetable gardens and watching her Toronto sports teams on TV. Jean was a faithful contributor to the life of her church both as a leader and a volunteer. She will be missed by friends and family and will remain in our hearts forever.

A visitation for Jean will be held Thursday, August 17, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Paul O’Connor Funeral Home, 1939 Lawrence Ave. E, Scarborough, ON M1R 2Y8. A chapel service will occur Thursday, August 17, 2023 from 11:00 AM to 11:30 AM, 1939 Lawrence Ave. E, Scarborough, ON M1R 2Y8. A burial will occur Thursday, August 17, 2023 at Resthaven Memory Gardens Cemetery, 2700 Kingston Road, Scarborough, ON M1M 1M5.
