John Monroe Stevenson

March 16, 1939 - May 3, 2022

It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of our father at Houses of Providence on May 3, 2022.

John was the son of James and Bessie Stevenson from Ireland and loving, faithful husband of Sylvia for 61 years. He was the son-in-law of Joseph and Louise Warren, dear brother to Jim (the late Helen) (Janet), and Elma (Bob). Cherished father to Susan and Daniel Scott, John and Judine Stevenson and David and Sheri Stevenson. Loving Grandfather to Jennifer, Kayley (Collin), Laurel (Christopher), Madeira, Dana, Quinlan, Gabriela and Olivia. Great grandfather to Lorelai and treasured by numerous nieces and nephews. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

John was a well respected retired District Chief with the Toronto Fire Department. He began his career in Forest Hill in 1964 until his retirement in 1997. He was passionate about his career and mentoring future generations.

The family would like to acknowledge the superb care and kindness provided by the staff at Houses of Providence.

Family and friends are invited to the Paul O’Connor Funeral Home on Monday, May 9 from
