Roy Matundo Nadela

August 10, 1969 to February 1, 2026

With a heavy heart, we announce the peaceful passing of a father, brother, and a husband, Roy Matundo Nadela, at Michael Garron Hospital in Toronto, on Sunday, February 1, 2026 at the age of 56. Surrounded by family and friends, Roy was welcomed into the presence of the Lord. As we gathered in love and remembrance, we reflected on the profound impact he had on all who knew him and the deep void his passing leaves behind.

Roy is mourned by his devoted wife of 31 years, Rowena Espenida Nadela. He was a dedicated and loving father to his daughter, Rouella Nadela Ramos, and his son, Gabriel Nadela, and a cherished father figure to their respective half, Christian Nemz Ramos and Gabriela Derez, whom he embraced as his own. Rouella and Gabriel will forever miss his unwavering love, guidance, and steady presence in their lives.

Roy is also remembered as an adored brother to Gina, Cynthia, and Raul, and to his late siblings, Elsa and Omar, whom he carried in his heart. He was a deeply loved member of his extended family and a devoted son to Rodulfo and Rosario Nadela. With hope and faith in his heart, Roy came to this country determined to ensure a brighter future for his two beloved children, of whom he was immensely proud.

Roy will be remembered by all who crossed his path as a kind, loving, and selfless man, whose gentle humor could light up any room. He expressed his creativity through his hands, spending quiet moments crafting intricate gemstone rings and necklaces, each piece made with patience and care. He was a true green thumb,who found joy tending to his garden during the summer heat, nurturing it with the same love he showed people — growing ampalaya, kamote tops (sweet potato leaves), kangkong (water spinach), and cucumbers. In these simple, meaningful moments, Roy found peace, and through them, he shared his generosity, creativity, and love with those around him.

Lastly, the family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the nurses, doctors, and healthcare staff at Michael Garron Hospital for their compassionate and exceptional care of Roy over the past few years.

Visitation will be held at Paul O’Connor Funeral Home, 1939 Lawrence Avenue East (between Warden and Pharmacy), on Sunday, February 8, 2026, from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.

As a celebration of Roy’s life, a chapel service will follow at 3:00 p.m. at the same location. In lieu of flowers, donations to Paul O’Connor Funeral Home would be appreciated by the family.
