1934 – 2026
We are truly heartbroken by the passing of our Mom Shirley D’Cruze, who passed peacefully at Scarborough Centenary Hospital on February 7th at the age of 91. We would like to express our deepest thanks to the doctors and nurses who cared for her.
She predeceased her loving husband, Eric. She is survived by her 3 children, Eric, Phillip, Ann and the late Elizabeth. Grandchildren, Eric III, Serena, Nathan, Nicole, and Nolan and great grandson, Marcus.
Shirley grew up in India, and immigrated to Canada with her husband and young children in 1966. Her first job was at Eaton’s department store and later moved on to Allstate Insurance, where she retired. She loved to dance, cook, bake, and sew.
She enjoyed all of her long and memorable friendships, with special mention to Pat and Diane whom knew her as Mom and their beautiful daughters, Alysha and Ashley who knew her as grandma. She adored Alysha’s children, Everett and Emilia who also knew her as great-grandma.
Shirley was a very deep and compassionate person. She cared deeply for others and for her faith in God. She always checked in to make sure you were ok and her infectious laugh would always brighten your day. Her family and friends were very important to her.
She was always a joy to be around and always had a smile on her face. She loved to take pictures, making sure she kept the camera with her at all times. She was extremely funny and her grandchildren all have fond memories of her.
We love and miss you dearly Mom, until one day we meet again.
