

Millie LaSalvia, aged 90, passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones on June 12th, 2022. Millie was born on August 29th, 1931 to her parents, Marion and William Russo. She is the beloved mother of Diane Ahnell (Bret) and Joseph Troiano (Hilda). She is the loving grandmother of Joseph Troiano Jr, Kendel Ringenberg (Billy), Blake Ahnell (Ashleigh), Adriana Troiano, Alexander Palmer, and Angelica Purdy, and great-grandmother of Alysianna and Dyaws.
Millie lived in New York almost all of her life. She met her husband, Charlie LaSalvia, in 1963 and spent many wonderful years with him until he passed. They brought together their families and had a wealth of happy memories. She had a love of travel and opened her own travel business, LaMar Tours Inc., at the age of 43.
She loved her work and the people she met along the way until she retired at the age of 71. “She was very involved with an organization which allowed children with Down Syndrome to experience the love of dance and music. She loved the joy it brought. Millie moved to Providence, Rhode Island at the age of 85 to be closer to her daughter and family.
Millie was a loyal friend to everyone she met. She was quick-witted, funny, and valued the people around her. She wasn’t just a mother to her children and grandchildren; she was a mother to all, providing her wise insight and advice, and always empathetic to others. Millie was genuine and true in everything she said, staying loyal to what she believed. She was truly loved by the people who knew her and gave everyone she met something to laugh and smile about.
Millie's infectious and precious smile will always be remembered.
Visitation will be held from 4 PM until 8 PM on Tuesday 14th at Edwin L. Bennett Funeral Homes. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 AM Wednesday the 15th at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Scarsdale. Entombment will follow the funeral at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
