Domenica Ingrassia, Scarsdale, New York passed peacefully on Saturday, December 23, 2017 after a seven-year battle with Alzheimer’s. She was surrounded by the love of her family. She was 77 years old. She was born on May 15, 1940 to Concetta and Eugene Ullo, the youngest of three children.
She married her first and only boyfriend, Matthew shortly after he took her to her high school prom. They were married on June 6, 1959 and they had two children. She has one granddaughter, Jiana, who was her sunshine.
She worked as an office manager for a commercial real estate company after her children started school and retired after over 20 years of service. She loved needlepoint and crewel work but loved outside house work much more than inside. She called herself “the contractor’s daughter”, more comfortable with a hammer and screwdriver in her hand than a spatula. But more than anything she loved to travel. Together with friends, with family or just the two of them, they visited countries throughout Europe, South America and the Far East collecting jewelry, art work and more, from everywhere she went.
She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Matthew; her daughter Lisa and Glenn Lane of Scarsdale, N.Y.; her son Carl and Nanette Ingrassia, Westfield, N.J.; her granddaughter Jiana Ingrassia and her granddogs, Casey, Cash and Milo.
There will be a viewing on Tuesday, December 26, 2017 at Edwin L Bennett Funeral Home, 824 Scarsdale Ave, Scarsdale, NY 10583 with a funeral mass at Our Lady of Fatima Church, 5 Strathmore Rd, Scarsdale, NY on Wednesday, December 27, 2017 @ 10AM. She will be interred at Greenwood Cemetery in Brooklyn.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Alzheimer’s Foundation.
