
Born in Tulsa, Oklahoma, Juanita Beauchamp graduated in 1932 from the University of Oklahoma where she was a theatre major. After graduation, she worked for the WPA setting up regional theatre groups.
She married Sidney G. Edwards in 1936 and lived in New York City until moving to Scarsdale in 1942.
A longtime resident of Scarsdale, Mrs. Edwards was very active in community affairs including The Scarsdale Women’s Club, The Red Cross, Girl Scouts, The Greenville Community Church and The Scarsdale Congregational Church.
Mrs. Edwards moved to Bronxville in 1990 with her husband, Sidney Edwards, who predeceased her in 1998.
Mrs. Edwards is survived by three daughters, Melinda of Glen Cove, Pamela Allara of Brookline, Mass., Roxanne of New York City; two grandchildren, Mark Allara of South Hamilton, Mass. and Ann Marie Allara-Rodriguez of Boston; two great-grandsons, Michael and Daniel Edwards Allara; one great-granddaughter, Allara Anne, and a nephew John Beauchamp of New York City.
