
Mrs. Driscoll was born in Boston, a daughter of George B. and Elizabeth T. (McNeil) Moran, on July 29, 1923, and was raised in Cambridge, Massachusetts. She received a bachelor’s degree in nutrition from the State Teachers College at Framingham, Massachusetts in 1944 and later worked as a dietitian in the Worcester, Massachusetts public schools and at the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester. She moved to Westchester in 1953, after her marriage to Francis P. Driscoll, a retail fabric executive. The Driscolls made their home in Mount Vernon before moving to Scarsdale in 1955. Mr. Driscoll died in 1969.
In 1975, Mrs. Driscoll went to work at Sarah Lawrence College in Bronxville, New York. She was named Registrar of the college in 1979, and retired in 2000.
She leaves her children, F. Paul of Scarsdale; William J. and his wife, Mary Jane, of Tarrytown; and Mary Erina of New York City. She also leaves two grandchildren, John F. and Monica J. Driscoll, both of Tarrytown, twenty-six nieces and nephews and numerous grandnieces and grandnephews.
Visitation will be at Bennett Funeral Homes in Scarsdale on Friday between 6-9 pm. A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday at 10:00AM, Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Scarsdale. Burial at St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Falmouth, Massachusetts will be private. Donations may be made in Mrs. Driscoll’s memory to Hospice & Palliative Care of Westchester or to the Maryknoll Fathers, 121 East 39th Street, New York, NY 10016-0961.
