It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Patricia Mahrle, affectionately known as "Tricia," beloved mother, sister, grandmother, and dedicated nurse, 73, on January 14th, 2024, in New York, NY.
Patricia Mahrle was born on April 5th, 1950 in South Bronx, NY, to John J. Gilmartin and Hannah McDonald. She was raised in the South Bronx and later moved to Los Angeles California and Oshkosh, Wisconsin, before settling in Eastchester, NY. She was married to Steven Mahrle for 30 years, a devoted mother to Sarah Mahrle Thomas and Stephanie Mahrle, and shared a special bond with her eldest sister, Hannah. Her love, kindness, and unwavering support touched the lives of all who knew her.
Tricia was also a doting grandmother to Anabelle, Adriana, Aliyah, William and Kai. She took great delight in their company, and her love for them was immeasurable. Tricia was a dedicated nurse who selflessly served her community. Her commitment to healthcare and her compassion for her patients left an indelible mark on the lives she touched. She fulfilled her dream of becoming a nurse by graduating from Caledonian School of Nursing and Pace University, a testament to her dedication to education. Tricia was deeply interested in holistic healing and was a certified Reiki master. Her holistic approach to health and well-being brought comfort and relief to many.
She is survived by her eldest sister, daughters, grandchildren, and son-in-laws Quentin and Saurabh. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother John James Jr. Gilmartin, sister Mary Plutchok, & Steven Mahrle. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 27th at 10:30am at Immaculate Conception Church. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
We will forever cherish the moments we shared with Patricia Mahrle, and her spirit will continue to inspire us. She will be dearly missed but never forgotten.
