Richard Kiley Murphy Jr.

Richard Kiley Murphy, Jr. (“Kyle”), 54, of New Rochelle, NY, passed away peacefully on March 21, 2026.

Kyle was the beloved son of Janet H. Murphy and the late Richard Kiley Murphy, Sr. He was a brother to Michele Murphy and Sue Gendron (Brandon), and uncle to Kyleigh and Jack. He also leaves behind many extended family members and close friends who will miss him deeply.

Born on April 20, 1971, in Mt. Pleasant, NY, Kyle grew up in Scarsdale, NY where he graduated from Scarsdale High School. Throughout his life, Kyle took on many different kinds of work, but what mattered most to him were the people he met along the way. He formed lasting friendships wherever he went and was known for showing up for others with loyalty and heart. He believed in working hard and doing things his own way, always staying true to who he was.

Kyle had a special bond with his dogs—Toasty, Tawny, Sierra, and Beatrice—who were truly his family and brought him constant companionship and joy. He had a deep love for music and adventure, traveling across the country to attend concerts, especially to see The Grateful Dead. Those experiences, and the people he shared them with, meant the world to him.

He will be remembered for his quick wit, his intelligence, his loyalty, and his unmistakable spirit. Kyle had a way of connecting with people and leaving a lasting impression, whether through laughter, conversation, or simply being there when it mattered most.

Kyle faced a courageous battle with melanoma cancer in his final years, meeting it with strength and resilience.

His family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Kyle’s family, friends, neighbors, doctors, and caregivers for their compassion, support, and friendship during this difficult time.

A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
