

Claude R. Wenger, 86, Myerstown, passed away on Friday March 18, 2016 in his residence. He was the husband of Arlene L. Dierwechter Wenger with whom he would have celebrated a 65th wedding anniversary in September. He was born in Bareville, Lancaster County on February 25, 1930 a son of the late Norman G. and Florence E. Zuck Wenger. He had worked several jobs through his life including at A.W.I. ; he was a carpenter who made much of his own furniture and specialty items; and he was a dairy farmer who had worked for Wen-Crest Farms after his retirement. He was a member of Midway Church of the Brethren and was a member of Teamsters. In addition to his wife he is survived by children: James C. Wenger, Jonestown; Ellen A. wife of Jerry Wolfe, Kleinfeltersville; Alice M. wife of Roland Miller, Pine Grove; 5 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; 3 great great-grandchildren; sister: Marian wife of David Mumma, Schuylkill Haven; brothers: Leon Wenger, Ephrata and Glenn Wenger, Lebanon. He was preceded in death by a son: Donald L. Wenger and granddaughters: Sonia Miller and Christine Wolfe; and a sister: Lois Romberger. Funeral services will be Wednesday 11:00 A.M. in Midway Church of the Brethren, 13 Evergreen Rd. Lebanon, PA 17042 where a viewing will be held from 9:30 A.M. to the time of service in the church. Interment will be made in the adjoining Midway Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions be made to the Hospice of Good Samaritan Hospital, 203 Hathaway Park, Lebanon, PA 17042. The Clauser Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
