Harvey J Patches Jr.

Harvey J. Patches, Jr., 85, died Wednesday, January 23, 2013 in his residence. He was the husband of Helen Bartal Patches. He was born in Richland on December 30, 1927, a son of the late Harvey L. and Ella Mae Schwear Patches. He was owner of Harvey J. Patches Building and Remodeling of Newmanstown. Harvey was Past President of the Lebanon County Builders Association in 1994 and served on their Board of Directors for many years. He was a member of the Elias United Church of Christ, Newmanstown and NRA. He loved traveling, hunting, fishing, cooking, canning and just enjoyed being around people. Surviving in addition to his wife are children, Michael J. Patches, Sr. and wife Carol of Newmanstown; James W. Patches and wife Susan of Richland; Joanne Fay Rollins of Middletown, DE; step children, Sandra Noll of Richland; Bruce Laucks of Fredericksburg; Gary Laucks, Deborah Hess and Susan Laucks all of Newmanstown; Donald Laucks of Myerstown; Judy Campodonico of Birmingham, AL; one grandson; five granddaughters; three great grandsons; numerous step grandchildren and step great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by wives, Helen J. Hartranft Patches and Laura Bressler Patches; step sons, Nelson Blatt and Robert Blatt; five brothers and a sister. Funeral service will be held on Monday at 11:00 AM in the Clauser Funeral Home, N. Carpenter St., Schaefferstown with a viewing beginning on Monday at 9:30 AM. Interment will be made in the Millcreek Memorial Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his memory to the Elias United Church of Christ, P. O.
