
James “Jimmy” H. Strickler, 87, formerly of Newmanstown, passed away on Thursday, September 1, 2016 in Cedar Haven. He was the husband of the late Kathy L. Johnson Strickler. He was born in Millcreek Township, Lebanon County on August 29, 1929, a son of the late Harvey and Mary Marderness Strickler. Jimmy was a self-employed contractor and formerly worked for Harry Lehman as a bricklayer. He attended the Lebanon Gospel Center and sang on the radio with the church. He was a member of the Millcreek Rod and Gun Club and Newmanstown Athletic Association. He is survived by children, James P. Strickler of Newmanstown; Judy A. Kline of Myerstown; Jean L. Spangler of Womelsdorf; Jane M. Hartman of Upper Darby, PA; Joel H. Strickler of CO; Janet A. Strickler of Minersviille; Kathy J. Knox of Harrisburg; Sandy J. Johnson of Myerstown; 20 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; brothers, Ronald Strickler of Akron; Arthur Strickler of Ephrata. He was preceded in death by a daughter, June Long; great granddaughter, Frankie May Johnson; seven brothers and three sisters. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, September 6, 2016 at 11 AM in Clauser Funeral Home, N. Carpenter St., Schaefferstown with a viewing beginning on Tuesday at 9:30 AM. Interment will be made in the Millbach Community Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his memory to Humane Society of Lebanon County, 150 N. Ramona Road, Myerstown, PA 17067.
