Luke Ellis Krall

Luke Ellis Krall, 76, of Schaefferstown, died Wednesday, April 16, 2014 in his residence. He was the husband of the late Patricia L. Matthews Krall. He was born in Schaefferstown on April 5, 1938, a son of the late Victor G. and Miriam Haldeman Krall. Luke was employed as Chief of Police for Heidelberg Township, retiring after 26 years of service. Prior to working with the police department, he worked at Krall’s Meat Market and enjoyed farming. He was a member of the St. Luke Lutheran Church in Schaefferstown and Schaefferstown Volunteer Fire Company. He was a former President of the Schaefferstown Cemetery Corporation and a former member of the FOP, Lebanon Lodge #42. While in high school, he was awarded the highest achievement in the FFA, “The Star Farmer of America”. He also was an avid Philadelphia Sports Team fan. Luke is survived by children , Brian Krall of Newmanstown; Mike husband of Sue Twombley of Rexmont; Bridget wife of Scott Krall of Denver; Steven “Arch” husband of Shanna Krall of Myerstown; Melissa wife of David Kuchinski of West Lawn; grandchildren, Jonathan, Adam, Tony, Tanya, Jordan, Tricia, Hilary, Emily, Haley and Xander; great grandchildren, Daulton, Caiden, Bria and Chase; step grandchildren, Kelsey, Tiffany, Bryan, Amanda, Brenda and Kayla; sister, Annabelle wife of Lowell Seiverling of Schaefferstown; brother, Robert husband of Ruth Krall of Schaefferstown. He was preceded in death by a son, Jeffrey Krall. Funeral service will be held on Thursday at 11:00 AM in St. Luke Lutheran Church, 1432 Heidelberg Ave., Schaefferstown, PA. Interment will be made in the Schaefferstown Cemetery. Viewing will be on Wednesday from 6 to 8 PM and Thursday from 10 to 11 AM in St. Luke Lutheran Chapel. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his memory to Humane Society of Lebanon County, 150 N. Ramona Road, Myerstown, PA 17067. Clauser Funeral Home, Inc. is handling his arrangements.
