

Margaret “Peg” K. Hatt, 82, of Myerstown, died Sunday, November 25, 2012 in the Reading Hospital and Medical Center, West Reading. She was born in Newmanstown on June 22, 1930, a daughter of the late F. Harold and Myrle Mann Kline. She was a retired Special Education teacher for IU 13, teaching in Lancaster and Lebanon counties. After graduating from Schaefferstown High School and West Chester State Teachers College, she taught music at Jim Thorpe High School, where she wrote their school Alma Mater. She was a member of the Friedens Lutheran Church in Myerstown; Lebanon County Educational Honor Society; and a life member of the Order of the Eastern Star Chapter 115 of Lebanon. Peg served as a troop leader and was a supporter of the Girl Scouts Program for 70 years. She was an accomplished organist and pianist and played the organ for many local churches. She enjoyed spending time with her neighbors and friends; loved cats, working in her garden and was an avid ELCO Sports fan. She is survived by her daughter, Margaretann Hatt of Newmanstown; brother, Dr. Robert M. Kline and wife Ann of Newmanstown; nieces, Kendra Heck, Kathryn Grove, Elizabeth Beaver; a nephew, Robert Kline, Jr.; great nieces and great nephews. She was preceded in death by a brother, Richard M. Kline. Funeral service will be held on Friday at 2:00 PM in the Friedens Lutheran Church, 301 W. Washington Ave., Myerstown, PA. Interment will be made in the Schaefferstown Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 6 to 8 PM and Friday from 1 to 2 PM at the church. Eastern Star Service by Chapter 115 of Lebanon will be conducted on Thursday at 5:45 PM. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in her memory to the American Cancer Society, 526 Cumberland St., Lebanon, PA 17042 or the Humane Society of Lebanon County, 150 N. Ramona Road, Myerstown, PA 17067. Clauser Funeral Home, Inc. of Schaefferstown is handling her arrangements.
