Phares M. Newswanger, 91 of Newmanstown, passed away on Saturday January 17, 2026 at home. He was born in Lancaster County on March 30, 1934, a son of the late John Jacob and Ella (Martin) Newswanger. Phares was preceded in death by his wife Martha O. (Sensenig) Newswanger who passed away January 12, 2007. He then married Katie O. ( Oberholtzer) Newswanger. Mr. Newswanger was a retired Farmer. He was a member of the Millbach Mennonite Church ( Weaverland Conference) Phares is survived by his wife Katie and sons: Glenn S. husband of Marian (Horning) Newswanger, Deming, N.M.; John S. husband of Louise (Nolt) Newswanger, Robesonia, PA; Lloyd S. husband of Joyce ( Horst) Newswanger, Newmanstown, PA; Ivan S. husband of Darlene (Rutt), Schuylkill Haven, PA; Ervin S. husband of Lois (Litzenburger), Newmanstown, PA; Phares S. husband of Denise (Brubacker) Newswanger, Carlisle, PA; Harry S. husband of Sheryl (Brubaker) Newswanger, Newmanstown, PA; daughters: Anna S. wife of Nelson Brubaker, Womelsdorf, PA; Verna S. Brubaker, Bethel, PA, wife of the late Elvin Brubaker; Nora S. wife of David Zimmerman, Alta Vista, IA; Sarah S. wife Gary Martin, Ephrata, PA; Edna S. wife of Edward High, East Earl, PA. and the late Darryl Nolt and Rhoda S. wife of Randal Nolt, Lebanon, PA; 99 grandchildren ( 8 not living) ; 310 great grandchildren; 4 great-great grandchildren. A viewing will be held on Friday, January 23, 2026 from 2-4 and 6-8 at the Middle Creek Fellowship Center, 520 PA-897 Reinholds, PA, 17569. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday January 24, 2026 at 9:30 AM at Millbach Mennonite Church, 3 N. Millbach Rd, Newmanstown, PA, 17073 Interment will take place in the adjoining church cemetery. Kindly omit flowers.
