

CHARLOTTE EILEEN ELDRIDGE, 79, of Lincoln St. in Duxbury, passed peacefully on December 9th, surrounded by friends and family. Charlotte, the daughter of Allen and Iva (Chase) Eldridge, was raised in Brewster on Cape Cod, lived in Scituate for many years, and most recently, lived with her sister Mary Cole in Duxbury. Mary has cared for Charlotte and provided her with loving companionship for many years. Charlotte was predeceased by her parents and by a brother, Randy Eldridge, of Whitman. Charlotte leaves a large family, including: a sister; Alice Smith (Warren) of Brunswick, Maine; a brother George Cole Sr. (Michelle) of Hyannis; two nieces, Diane Smith Howard and Karin Smith of Brunswick, Maine; a nephew, Calvin Smith of Seal Cove, New Brunswick; a niece, Brianne Eldridge, two nephews, George Cole, Jr. and Sean Cole of Hyannis; a grand nephew, Levi Eldridge Barnes of Topsham Maine, and many cousins on Cape Cod. Charlotte volunteered in service to others for many years of her life and was especially loved by the staff and her co-volunteers at Work Inc. in Quincy. A kind and gentle soul, Charlotte will be long remembered for her hard work and her contagious sense of humor. She was much loved and will be sorely missed by her family, her cats Lilly Belle and Hunter, her many friends, and community members. She will be especially missed by her longtime friends at Active Daycare/Cozy Corner in Hingham and Plymouth where she spent many happy days. May she rest in peace.
A visitation will take place on Friday December 16, 2022 from 3pm-7pm at Richardson-Gaffey Funeral Home, 382 First Parish Road, Scituate. A funeral service will be held on Monday December 19, 2022 at 11:30am from Nickerson Funeral Home, 77 Eldredge Park Way, Orleans, MA followed by interment at Brewster Cemetery, Lower Road in Brewster.
In lieu of flowers, her family requests that donations be made in Charlotte’s name to South Shore Support Services in Weymouth or to The Scituate Animal Shelter.
