Daniel Orr Sr.

ORR, Daniel Sr. Age 84. In New London, NH on May 25, 2012. Of Sebastian, FL and Newbury, NH, formerlyof Scituate, MA. Mr. Orr retired in 1990 as Vice President of the Boston Globe's Affiliated Publications. He was the youngest Circulation Manager and the youngest Circulation Director in the history of the Boston Globe. He was also Chairman of the Board of Pequot Press. Son of the late Daniel Orr and Bridget (O'Kane) and also predeceased by wife, Marie (Downing) Orr. Beloved husband of Judith (Clarke) Orr of Sebastian, FL and Newbury, NH. Survived by his devoted son Daniel Orr, Jr. and his wife Janet of Middleboro and his daughter Deirdre and her husband Dr. Andrew Dougan of Oxford, England. Dear brother of Sheila of Spain, Rosina of Melrose, Dympna of Medford, and Maurie of Arizona. He was a Korean War Veteran with the rank Sergeant First Class. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, June 1 at 12 Noon at St. Mary of the Nativity Church in Scituate. Visiting Hours will be held Thursday, May 31st from 5pm to 8pm at the Richardson Gaffey Funeral Home on First Parish Road in SCITUATE.
