

David served with the U.S. Navy, retiring as a Chief Petty Officer. He travelled to many countries over his 13 year career while assigned to the USS Lockwood and the USS Kirk and served shore duty in Guam and San Diego. After his service in the military, David worked as a dispatcher for the Scituate Fire Department, Cohasset Police and Fire Departments, and was a volunteer firefighter in Norwell. David finished his career as a dispatcher with the Weymouth Police Department.
Proud and devoted father of Justin Weeks of Mission Viejo, CA. Loving son of the late Wallace and Margaret (Manning) Weeks. Beloved brother of Michael and his wife Katherine of E. Dennis, Peggy Dummer and her husband Scott of Scituate, Mary Ellen Bergstrom and her husband Paul, Julie Gray and her husband Craig all of Scarborough, ME, Amy Johnson and her husband Paul of Hanson and the late Stephen Weeks. David is also survived by nine nieces and nephews.
Friends and family are invited to attend visiting hours on Friday, January 6 from 4PM to 8PM in the Richardson-Gaffey Funeral Home, 382 First Parish Rd, Scituate.
Funeral from the Richardson-Gaffey Funeral Home, on Saturday, January 7th at 9AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Mary of the Nativity Church, Scituate at 10AM. Interment will be in Union Cemetery, Scituate.
In lieu of flowers, donations in David’s memory may be made to the South Shore Hospital Dana Farber Cancer Center Journey of Hope Campaign, 55 Fogg Road, Weymouth, MA.
