Doris “Dot” N. Lesher, 89, born in Webster, Massachusetts, formerly of Scituate, Massachusetts, passed on September 9, 2021 in Tallahassee, Florida. Dot was the loving wife of the late Charles “Dick” Lesher and daughter of the late J. Otto and Doris (Carver) Bayer. Dot leaves her sons Kevin Brown of Scituate, K. Scott Brown (Lisa) of Tallahassee and Gary Brown of Crawfordville, Florida. She was preceded in death by her son Steven Brown of Merritt Island, Florida, and grandsons Jarryd and Cory.
She also leaves grandsons Christian, David and Ian, granddaughter Shelby, stepchildren J. Michael Lesher, Jean Medley and Joyce Hogan, and great grandchildren Jackson, Jameson (David) and Nathaniel (Christian).
She was preceded in death by her siblings, John Bayer, David Bayer, Joyce Boutwell and Alan Bayer.
A graduate of Howard Seminary, class of 1949, Dot also attended Green Mountain College. She worked at Brooks Drug Store in North Scituate, volunteered for Meals on Wheels and was a homemaker and mom to four rambunctious boys. She never wanted to hear “the whole story” about the adventures her sons had gotten into when they were youngsters. Dot bowled at Satuit Bowlaway, was an accomplished cribbage player and had weekly scrabble games, picking up her friends to play at the Senior Center. She was an avid Red Sox and NASCAR fan and had more than a few dogs that were her beloved 4-legged friends.
Per Dot’s wishes, there will not be a memorial service. A private burial will be held at Mt. Zion Cemetery in Webster, Massachusetts on October 9 and at Cudworth Cemetery in Scituate, Massachusetts on October 11. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Scituate Animal Shelter, the Scituate Etrusco Associates or the Christ Lutheran Church of Scituate.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.richardsongaffeyfuneralhome.com for the Lesher & Brown families.
