Edward McCafferty

Born in Donegal, Ireland he was the son of the late James and Ellen (McNeely) McCafferty. After emigrating from Ireland, Edward enlisted in the United States Army serving during the Korean War. He then went on to work as a supervisor for US Airways and retired after 35 years of employment. Edward love spending his free time golfing, bowling and was a proud member of the Knights of Columbus.

Father of Cheryl McCafferty of Imperial, Pennsylvania, Edward “Ted” McCafferty Jr. and his wife Barbara of Walpole and J. Kevin McCafferty and his wife Nancy of Mansfield.

Grandfather of Shannon, Patrick, Sean and Lucy.

Brother of Eunan McCafferty and Thomas Vincent McCafferty, both of Norwood, Kathleen Diaz of Houston, Texas. Predeceased by Maureen Folan of Norwood, James McCafferty, Sean McCafferty and Sadie McCafferty, all of Donegal, Ireland and Patrick and Hugh McCafferty of Chicago, Illinois.

Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, September 21, 2023 from 3-7 PM at Richardson-Gaffey Funeral Home, 382 First Parish Road, Scituate. Funeral Mass on Friday, September 22, 2023 at 10:00 AM at St. Mary of the Nativity Church, 1 Kent Street, Scituate Harbor. Interment immediately following the funeral Mass at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Meeting House Lane, Scituate Harbor.
